Confronting War Ten Years On - An International Conference

Ten years after the biggest demonstrations in history in February 2003, this conference will discuss and plan opposition to continuing and further wars.

As millions around the world predicted, the war on terror has caused catastrophe from Afghanistan and Pakistan through Iraq and the Middle East to Libya, Somalia and beyond. The conference will bring together leading activists and commentators to analyse continuing Western aggression and how to confront it.

Sessions will include:

• Iraq, Afghanistan and the disaster of the war on terror

• Palestine and the crisis in the Middle East

• Drones and remote control imperialism

• Art and war

• Islamophobia and racism

• Confronting war today

At the National Demonstration: Stop Israel's War on Gaza 24 November We will assemble at 12 noon at Downing Street to show David Cameron and the UK government that its unstinting support for Israel's assault on Gaza is not in our name. What is Really Happening in Gaza?
Public Meeting with Campaign Stalls

Tory William Hague says it is the people of Gaza fault that they are being bombed. He blames them for making the Israeli army bomb them with weapons that the UK sold to Israel. The BBC reports that Israelis are 'killed' while Palestinians just 'die.' The mainstream media is telling lies about Gaza.

At this public meeting hear reports of what is really going on. What the Israeli government is doing, who supports them and why. The Israeli assault on Gaza is not just a re-run of the what happened four years ago during 'operation cast led' when hundreds of Palestinians were killed. The Arab uprisings in Egypt and beyond have changed the political map.

Speakers include:
Lindsay German, national convener of the Stop the War Coalition, as well as from PSC, MAB and Manchester students.

This is an open meeting. All Welcome.
