Troops out of Afghanistan!

"The war in Afghanistan has now been spread to Pakistan. The Americans see it as all the same war - no wonder they now call it the Af-Pak War.

"Our own Ed Miliband who keeps visiting Pakistan has given UK apporoval and encouragement to Pakistan using their own army to attack their own people.

"As well as the bloody and pointless war in Afghanistan, we now can see the war has spread and is destabalising Pakistan, just as the Vietnam war was spread to Cambodia. We must stop this war madness."

The Afghan people were not responsible for the attack on the Twin Towers. America used 9/11 as a trigger to attack Afghanistan.  For Bush it was really just a stepping stone to the 'more important' war on Iraq.President Obama was opposed to that 'bad' war in Iraq. He was for an escalation in the 'good' war in Afghanistan. That is what we are seeing today. Afghanistan has become Obama's War. And the war in Afghanistan has now been spread to Pakistan.

The Americans see it as all the same war - no wonder they now call it the Af-Pak War. Unmanned Drone air planes have been bombing villages inside Pakistan. These Drones are based in Pakistan, and operate with the Government's approval. The US government has pushed for the Pakistani Army to attack their own people in the North West Frontier Province. Recently 18,000 Pakistani troops attacked the NWFP In what the Pakistani Government call their part in the 'war on terror', the SWAT valley has been bombed from the air and pounded with heavy artillery.When Al Jazeera flew over the the area they reported, 'it looks like Falluja', (the city bombed to pieces by the Americans in Iraq). This has caused a massive humanitarian crisis with two and a half million people displaced and forced to flee They now live as refugees in camps. Eighty percent of all the aid given to Pakistan goes to the military.

In Pakistan most people blame America not the Taliban for all this. They see the Taliban as the only people that are fighting the foreign forces. The Taliban also fight against the massive levels of poverty, and are seen as opposing inequality in society. Support for the Pakistan Taliban is not due to support for their social policies. People in Pakistan do not want their sisters, and daughters to be treated badly. But it is the Pakistan Taliban that are sabotaging America's war on one of the poorest countries in the world, Afghanistan.

There is no count made of the dead in the SAWT valley, just as they did not count the Iraqi dead, and they don't keep count of the Afghan dead. As well as the bloody and pointless war in Afghanistan, we now can see the war has spread and is destabalising Pakistan, just as the Vietnam war was spread to Cambodia. We must stop this war madness. We need to step up the campaign to bring the British troops home from Afghanistan, and raise with people how we must stop them spreading the war futher into Pakistan.

Our demands should be:

• Troops out of Afghanistan!
• Stop the spread of war to Pakistan!
• Humanitarian Aid not Military Aid!
• End UK support for the war in Pakistan!
